2007 Original
Legalicious was founded in 2007 by Travis Granfar and Arash Kashmirian and launched at TechCrunch in 2008: real lawyers on video, answering the questions founders actually ask.
The idea was right and the timing wasn't. Video meant a film crew and a conference room, and the 2008 financial crisis closed the window. Both went on to build other companies; Travis later became a VC and founded Bitesize Incubator and Fund.
Today, the timing looks better. A phone now does what a crew once did. And as AI takes over the paperwork, human judgment and trust are at a premium. Twenty years is a long time to keep an idea. Time will tell if this one was worth it.
